This document will show you how to set up a simple dial pattern via FXO trunks.

Case 1: Make any calls via FXO trunk on PBX

If you want make a call to outbound phone line to anywhere, you should follow these steps.

Step 1

Check the status of the FXO line. Ensure the FXO line was connected.

Path: Switchboard à Trunks

Step 2

Add a new dial rule.In the dial patterns field,input “X” and select the FXO line to connect.

Step 3

Under the dial permission, add a new dial permission.Select the dial rules which you have done in step 2.

Step 4

Edit the extension number profiles.Select the DailPlan1 and finished.

Case 2: Make internal calls only

You can call any extension number from internal group member,but it cannot call via internet or phone lines.

Step 1

Add new dial permission and select no dial rules.

Check the rule which is empty.

Step 2

Edit the extension number features. Select the internalcalls and finished.

Case 3: Make international calls only

You can call any extension number to make international calls only via phone lines.

Step 1

Add a new dial rule.In the dial pattern field,input “zzx” and select the FXO line which is connected for the international calls.

Step 2

Under the dial permission, add a new dial permission. Select the dial rules which you have done in step 2.

Step 3

Edit the extension number features. Select the internationalCalls and finished.

 

Dial Pattern Table

X matches any digit from 0-9.

Z matches any digit from 1-9.

N matches any digit from 2-9.

. wildcard, matches one or more characters.

! wildcard, matches zero or more characters immediately.

If you are using VIP-1120PT,VIP-2140PT and ICF-1800 LDAP,configurations will be automatically configured when you are provisioning the phones by PNP or Quick Registration Code. No more LDAP configurations are required. You may browse IPPBX phonebook directly from the IP phone LDAP menu.

If you are using IP phones from other manufacturers you’ll need to manually configure LDAP configurations using the LDAP server credentials as shown below.

Step 1

The extension number was already registered with PBX.

1. Display Name: To fill out the name you want.

2. Server Address: To fill out the 192.168.1.240 [IPX-330(V3)].

3. User Name: cn=user,dc=ippbx,dc=com

4. Password: password

5. Search Base: dc=ippbx,dc=com

6. Press Apply.

Step 2

1. Select type: LDAP

2. Line: LDAP1

3. Subtype: View

1. Add the contact information to IPX-330 (V3).

2. Press “Sync with LACP server” and it is done.

An example.

The IPX-330 of IP address is 192.168.1.240.

Display name is PBX.

1. To set the configuration of VIP-2140PT

    Refer to Step 1.

2. Updating the contact information from IPX-330(V3).

    My account name is jerry,and press Sync with LACP server.

3. Checking the Phonebook status on VIP-2140PT.

    Keypad descriptions are shown below.

 

    Refer to Step 2.

The DSS key is shown below.

 

Press the softkey on IP phone.

 

Press the soft key shown in red circle below.

 

Press the Sync with LACP server and you’ll see the account is updated.

Step 1

Check the current hardware and software version and mail us to ask for the suitable firmware. 

Device Model : Hardware version.

Firmware version : Software version.

Step 2

How to get the firmware file or utility

1. Search the model name via this URL.

    https://www.planet.com.tw/en/support/downloads

2. The new firmware is officially released by email.

Step 3

Back up your configuration from IP-PBX and save the backup file on your PC or workstation.

Step 4

Check and sync with the system time.Ensure the time is correct.

Step 5

Select the FW file in the correct path and model name,and press “upgrade” shown below.

Step 6

Enable these options for keeping the user profile.

1. Keep the network profile and keep call recordings. 

2. Press the reset to default icon.

After resetting to default and rebooting to the latest version,you can restore the configuration shown below.

Typical usage instructions:

Under the same subnet LAN network,the two IP phones can use the IP direct dialing function of the PLANET phone without registering in the PBX environment,thus realizing the communication between the intra-office phones.

Pre-preparation tools: 

VIP-1120PT VoIP Phone,VIP-2140PT VoIP Phone,desktop computers and network switches.

①A PLANET phone is connected to a PLANET switch where an IP address can be automatically obtained.

②A computer for debugging is connected to the switch to ensure that the network is interoperable now that the computer and the phone are connected.

Method 1 : Peer-to-peer call.

1.1 Checking the IP address.

       On LCD screen of the IP phone, click “Menu” and then “Status” to view the IP address of the phone.

1.2 Logging in the web GUI.

1.2.1 Open the browser,enter the IP address on the phone. 

1.2.2 Disabling SIP Invite Restricted Feature.

VIP-1120PT

1.2.3 Entering the IP address on the phone to make a dialing call.

        For example: 

        VIP-1120PT: IP address is 192.168.1.112.

        The dial number should be 192*168*1*112, and press the dial button. 

        VIP-2140PT: IP address is 192.168.1.14.

        The dial number should be 192*168*1*14, and press the dial button.

Method 2: Peer-to-peer call (via web GUI).

VIP-1120 PT

Path: Line à Dial Plan.

Configuration instructions:

When you dial the number “1314”, it will call to 192.168.1.14.

VIP-2140 PT

Path: Line à Dial Peer.

Configuration instructions:

When you dial the number “520”, it will call to 192.168.1.112.

Method 3: Peer-to-peer call by DSS key.

Model Name: VIP-1120PT.

Key: DSS key 1-1.

Type: Memory key.

Name: Define yourself. 

Value: The IP address (192.168.1.14) you want to call .

Subtype: Speed dial.

 

Model Name: VIP-2140PT

Key: DSS key 1-1.

Type: Memory key.

Name: Define yourself. 

Value: The IP address (192.168.1.112) you want to call.

Subtype: Speed dial.

 

Configuration instructions:

You need to enable the DSS key function to achieve this function by directly pressing the phone button.

 

A :

The following devices are selected for making point to point calls:

Equipment 1 : HDP-1100PT (IP 192.168.1.76)

Equipment 2 : VTS-700P (IP 192.168.1.71)

Equipment 3 : ICF-1800 (IP 192.168.1.220)

The network segment must be the same.

 

Application 1

HDP-1100PT is dialing to VTS-700P

HDP-1100PT (192.168.1.20)

Path: Service à SIP

1. Setting up the Dial Button : 123@192.168.1.71:5060

2. Save and reboot.

Note : 123 is free to set up to ensure the IP address of VTS-700P and port 5060.

After it is finished,you can dial now. 

Application 2

VTS-700P is dialing to HDP-1100PT

VTS-700P (IP 192.168.1.71)

Step 1

Path: Intercom à Camera

1.Set up the URL : rtsp://admin:admin@192.168.1.76/cam1/h264

2.Save the configuration.

HDP-1100PT (192.168.1.76)

Step 2

1.Setting the ERL:/cam1/h264

2.Save and reboot the device.

Now you can press the camara button on VTS-700P to view the HDP-1100PT.

Application 3

ICF-1800 is dialing to HDP-1100PT

HDP-1100PT (192.168.1.76),ICF-1800 (IP 192.168.1.220)

1.Setting up the Dial Button : 123@192.168.1.220:5060

2.Save and reboot.

Note: 123 is free to set up to ensure the IP address of ICF-1800 and port 5060.

After it is finished, you can dial now.

The ICF-1800 will show the IP of the person who is dialing.

Application 4

HDP-1100PT is dialing to ICF-1800

Dial number: 192*168*1*76 = Calling to 192.168.1.76

If the IPX-2100 is before router, to resolve the problem, please set up IP address as shown below:
Click【Advanced】->【Option】->【Global SIP Settings】:

Item Explanation
External IP External IP or domain to replace the device IP
External Host External domain to replace the device IP.
External Refresh(sec) Refresh time, default is 10 seconds
Local Network Address IP address and subnet mask needed to be converted.
e.g. 192.168.1.100/255.255.255.0

The maximum capacity is 4GB. Below is a support list for your reference. If insert bigger than 4GB SD card that VIP-8030NT maybe not recognize SD card and can not record conference voice.
